17 to 23 i don’t even remember what i did this 6 years. When I was 17, I couldn’t wait to turn 18. Growing up felt exciting. I thought adulthood meant freedom, new opportunities, and finally becoming the person I wanted to be. Now I’m 23, and in just a few months I’ll be 24. Somewhere along the way, that excitement turned into fear. Growing up isn’t just about getting older. It’s about carrying responsibilities, making difficult decisions, dealing with uncertainty, and realizing that life doesn’t always go as planned. Every birthday now feels less like a celebration and more like a reminder that time never slows down. Maybe I’m not afraid of getting older. Maybe I’m afraid of not becoming the person I imagined I’d be by this age. I know everyone grows at their own pace, but some days it’s hard not to compare yourself with others.
